My caller or visitor would probably be an aunt or a friend I haven’t seen in years.  I’d be very surprised and hope my house isn’t a mess.  I would probably hug the person and say something like oh how did you get here and wonder why, what?

I probably would at the same time hope they’re not looking for a place to stay or be so happy to see them that I’d be overwhelmed.
